The history of our laboratory
Our laboratory opened in 1994, in the center of Lyon, close toFoch and Masséna metro stations. Dominique Charles Messance founded the laboratory. At the end of July 2016, Gilberto Martins acquired the laboratory, its business and its team. Our expert craftspeople create all kinds of prosthetic eyes in our laboratory.
Gilberto Martins
Gilberto Martins is a registered ocularist with more than 20 years’ experience. He offers a comprehensive service which involves meeting with patients before creating and painting artificial eyes for them. He is attentive to his patients’ needs and is happy to answer their questions.
Every iris is a custom-made creation and is made by hand by a painter. Every prosthetic eye is custom-made; each one is unique.
A laboratory created for you
The way we welcome our patients is particularly important to us because it reflects our laboratory and its values. You will be welcomed to our office in the center of Lyon, in a typical Haussman style building which is both spacious and cozy.
Our assistant Maria is here to help and can answer any questions and address any concerns about your artificial eye. However, if the ocularist thinks that it’s necessary, you can also discuss your artificial eye with him.
